'FROM RAILS TO TRAILS' MICRO DOCUMENTARY

TOWN OF ROUND HILL, VIRGINIA

A Big Anniversary for a Small Town

  The Why

'From Rails to Trails' takes viewers on a moving and immersive journey, in celebration of the town's 125th anniversary. From beginnings to the once bustling small town that would surprise most. And all the way to seeing a bright future, designed to bring communities closer.

Through the voices of Round Hill's most notable residents, the story also features Loudoun historian and cartographer Eugene Scheel. And a special appearance by author Ann Whitehead Thomas. Who years ago wrote the book 'A Story of Round Hill'.

The film, produced by 3x Emmy Award winner Jeffrey Fitzgerald, the piece was crafted to be as much about community as it is about history. A vivid and immersive story full of moving moments. And one without the sleep inducing lag that gives history a bad name.

Adding to the rich visuals and photographic history, iconic faces and places were brought to life through the use of Ai.

And the audiences love the final product.

 Creative Design and Production

Our creative approach began with considering notable events and milestones. Beginnings that put the town of the map in the late 1800s. Pouring over hundreds of photos and artifacts to connect story lines.

Interviewing town folk, historians and life-long residents. Capturing the fluid memories of time past from those who knew it best. Assembling those moments into carefully told timeline of challenge, growth and future. Building a narrative tone of something bigger than ourselves. An uplifting story that make everyone feel like family.

 Realized Value

Since it's release this documentary has been well received by town folk and the broader community.

And the response to our immersive Ai portions has been a big part of that story.

No, it wasn't created for the big screens or the OSCARS.

But to many, this quiet look back gave them a vision of what was, and also what could be.

One resident said:

"It warms my heart to see the place where I live come to life like that.

The old pictures were great, and wow I felt like the people in them were here with Ai."
